Bournemouth’s Four Premier League Hat-Tricks

Updated: Jan 27, 2024

Dominic Solanke wrote himself into the history books on December 23, scoring Bournemouth's fourth-ever Premier League hat-trick. We take a look at the other three to occur in the Cherries' short top-flight history.

Dominic Solanke Vs Nottingham Forest

Solanke completed his hat-trick at the perfect moment for Bournemouth: a 94th-minute goal won the side all three points away at Nottingham Forest.

The trio of goals included two excellent looping headers and one poached effort during a corner kick scramble.

This leaves the Cherries 11th in the league, level on points with Chelsea at 10th. The Englishman is now the joint 3rd top scorer, one goal behind Mohamed Salah.

Callum Wilson Vs Huddersfield Town

The most recent hat-trick was all the way back in the 2017/18 season. Callum Wilson scored three on November 18 during a 4-0 thumping of Huddersfield Town at Dean Court.

Wilson opened the scoring in the 26th minute by heading home a Jordan Ibe corner from close range.

Just five minutes later, Wilson tapped home a low Andrew Surman free-kick. Despite replays showing a marginal offside, the linesman's flag stayed down.

In the 84th minute, Joshua King held off three defenders and pulled the ball back to Wilson for his hat-trick.

Joshua King Vs West Ham United

King netted three on March 11 2017, against West Ham at home. Interestingly, the Norwegian had missed a penalty in the ninth minute - and Benik Afobe missed another in the 37th.

King's first goal (31st minute) was a beauty, lifting the ball over Jose Fonte before slotting it home past future-Cherry: Darren Randolph.

Three minutes into the second half, a lofted free-kick found its way to the centre-forward on the six-yard line for an easy finish.

In similar fashion to this weekend, King grabbed a 90th-minute winner to make it 3-2. A parried save made for an easy close-range finish.

Callum Wilson Vs West Ham United

Wilson, like King, also grabbed a hat-trick against West Ham, this time away. This came in Bournemouth's first-ever top-flight victory, on August 22 2015.

Wilson headed home the Cherries' first-ever Premier League goal in the 11th minute, after Simon Francis won back possession and whipped in a cross.

In the 28th minute, Aaron Cresswell gifted the striker a golden opportunity within the penalty area, and he made it 2-0.

Finally, Wilson converted a penalty in the 78th minute to get his first professional hat-trick. Despite conceding 4 minutes later, Bournemouth secured a 4-3 victory.
